Mr R. M. Chan was born in the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong in 1953.
His family has practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for 7 generations.
TCM therefore was a normal part of his life from childhood years onwards.
Although Mr Chan learned TCM from his uncle, he also studied under Master Chan Yui Chung 陈耀中老中医, who still advises Mr Chan today.
In England in 1981, Mr. Chan entered Psychiatric nursing, qualifying initially as an Enrolled Nurse, later as a Registered Mental Nurse and registered in England.
Mr Chan’s family has enjoyed a long history in practising the art of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He studied under his uncle, Master Lam Yan 林仁老中医, a well-respected Shantou 汕头 & Hong Kong practitioner. Master Lam had spent many of Mr Chan’s childhood years teaching him and practising with him until he passed away in 2001 at the age of 82.
Mr Chan is a listed practitioner in, and a Member of, the Hong Kong Government’s Chinese Medicine Council. His registration number is L05864.
He is also a life member of the association of Hong Kong & Kowloon Practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. 港九中医師公会永远会员第七九六七号 His registration number is 7967.
On 8th January 1995, Jing Qi Tong TCM was started by Mr. Chan in Mayfield Street, HU3 1NS. The first TCM clinic in Kingston-upon-Hull, E. Yorks.
Following the family traditional, Mr. Chan is specialised in cosmetic, reproductive, respiratory, paediatric and gynaecologicol medicine.
